Sandringham Handrails

In 2025, Ian was asked to create a series of handrails for the Formal Gardens at the Sandringham Estate.

The handrails were not allowed to be fixed to the historic stonework and so, the upright posts had to be cantilevered and fixed into the soil instead. To provide additional support, stantion posts were added to the end posts as well.

The handrails were designed and forged in such a way that they would blend in with the historic building and to ensure longevity, they were treated with zinc spraying before a heavy duty top coat of paint was applied in situ.

Date 2025
