Chelsea Flower Show

In 2022, Ian was asked to lead the metalworking team for The Body Shop's Chelsea Flower Show garden, designed by Jenifer Hirsch and entitled "re:generation".

Inspired by the new generation of changemakers and activists and their determination to change the world for the better. The garden is designed to tell a story of environmental and societal regeneration, connecting nature’s restorative abilities with young people’s resilience in the face of pressures like climate anxiety.

Made from specialist steel called "Corten", the structure consisted of four arches, heated to various temperatures (1000oC, 750oC, 500oC and room temperature).

Ian hand picked, and led, a team of 9 people over 5 month period in order to get the garden frame finished and installed on time and budget.
