Brief:
To create a discrete handrail with a 1930's industrial feel and incorporating the company's logo.
With this in mind, I studied industrial construction methods and one which was very prominent was a clevis end joint with the central tensioner.
Sadly no clevis ends were available in the style that I wanted and so I made a pattern and had it cast by Bridport Foundry.
The company logo of a crow was created using a CNC plasma cutter before then shaping and texturing the various elements to create a 3D shape. Once the handrail was fitted, local artist Anne-Louise Richards was then able to paint the crow to the exact specifications of the logo.
